One of the cheapest and easiest ways to start riding with power readings, the 4iiii's offering is an excellent value for money option. 4iiii is now on the third iteration of it's crank-based power meters, and as such, the 2nd version is on a great discount. When we tested the 2.0 version we found it to be reliably accurate and robust, and so would highly recommend sticking with this model given how much cheaper it is compared to the latest model right now.

Very similar in form to the entry-level Flux S, the Flux 2 packs some upgraded internals. The max power is 2,000w vs 1,500w, the max slope is 16% vs 10% and the accuracy is ±2.5% vs ±3%. Typically we'd recommend saving some money and going with the Flux S – but when the higher spec model is discounted cheaper, there's really no reason to chose anything else.

Tacx's entry level smart trainer is one of the best options on the market for its price, and now it has been discounted even more, it makes sense to purchase this one. It's reliable, silent and has a heavy flywheel for a realistic ride feel.

It's still a relatively entry level indoor bike, but the team behind the belt drive magnetic resistance of this exercise bike say it allows you to track riding progress with measurable performance stats such as watts, calories, and cadence. Real time analytics which work with a specific MyFitnessCloud app.

It's little surprise that it's featured in our guide to the best winter cycling jackets. However, Castelli quality comes at price, making this detail especially attractive.

We haven't reviewed the men's version of these tights, but we have tested the women's – so we can comment on the performance of the fabrics if not this exact cut and fit. They were toasty warm, as hinted at by the RoS moniker, they really do perform come rain or shine – they are waterproof enough to fend off a shower, but still breathable enough for hard efforts in the dry. There is currently availability in all sizes – but only in blue.

This is a decent price for the Instep Quick-N-EZ Double. It's not yet made it on to our best children's bike trailers, guide, but is nearly $500 cheaper than some of the options there. Capable of carrying two kids and converts in to a stroller, it could be a great budget option for taking little legs along for the ride. 

For when little legs = four. We're loving the options for all the family to get on the bike, and this trailer means no one is left behind on a ride. This one can carry a pooch up up 50lbs, and there is a larger size (up to 100lbs) which it's currently out of stock, but keep checking back as it might suddenly land.

It's been cheaper, but this isn't about getting a good deal, it's a reminder to get a decent first aid kit. This one has a really decent amount of components that can deal with a lot of emergencies on the bike, and it's compact design and weighing less than half a pound means that it can easily come along for a ride.  

Always handy to have around, here's a 20 pack of Threaded Co2 cartridges. Compatible with all inflators which have a 3/8”-24 TPI thread. 16 gram cartridge inflates a road tire to 100 psi and a MTB tire to approx. 40psi. While single use, these cartridges are recyclable.

Wiggle's in-house brand, LifeLine, is any cyclist's go-to for sufficient quality at a reasonable price. Although we don't currently have a review, our Fitness Features Editor, Anna Abram, bought one herself before joining the Cycling Weekly team. It is quite compact – which can be a plus – but it means larger bike frames and very chunky gravel tyres simply don't fit.  Even at full price it's a great buy and one of the cheapest on the market.

LifeLine products are generally excellent value even at full price. Although we don't currently have a review, our Fitness Features Editor, Anna Abram, previously owned one before joining the Cycling Weekly team. The Varia RTL515 is a smartphone compatible cycling radar and tail light. Pairing easily with your Garmin Edge, smartwatch or smartphone it provides tone and vibration alerts to make you aware of approaching cars. It can even be paired with third-party navigation apps to overlay your maps  with rearview radar alerts. As for the tail light, it's designed to offer daylight visibility of up to a mile and has a battery life of 16 hours in day flash mode.

This smart turbo is a great value-for-money package, as we found when we reviewed it last year. The power readings from it proved reliable and the feedbakc nd feel was responsive. It packs in much of the features of more expensive rivals, and it's now even cheaper.
